Our highly popular portrait and life drawing courses run Throughout the year .

The unspoilt countryside of North Devon, with it’s

rugged coastline, moorlands and forests, provide an

ever changing backdrop for our watercolour and mixed

media landscape courses.

The studio also provides a welcome refuge from

inclement weather, with this in mind we recommend

that a basic digital camera is part of your equipment. Sketching easels and drawing boards are provided.

Guests arrive after 4.00pm and settle in their rooms at

Philham cottage. Dinner is at 7.30pm  followed with coffee in the lounge or the garden.

We gather in the studio at 9.30am the following morning for an  introductory disscusion on what form each course will take.

Preliminary sketching and painting thoughout the morning, with a lunch break at around 12.30pm.

The afternoon is spent painting in more detail.

Coffee and biscuits at the end of the working day, followed by dinner at around 7.30pm.
